Hasroun

An escape perched atop the Qadisha Valley, her name is derived from the Phoenician word for fortress. French writer, poet and politician Alphonse de Lamartine wrote about her red-tiled roofs set against her rich green backdrop, likening them to a bouquet of roses, hence her nickname the Rose of the Mountain.
