Follow the road right after Sharbine to find inscriptions engraved in a hollowed-out rock, dating back to the time of Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar. An inscription can be found on either side of the valley through which the road passes, both of which read the same text. Duplicated in Nahr Ibrahim in the north, this passage describes this famous Babylonian king’s conquests in Lebanon.
