This coastal countess is famous for housing the largest Crusador fortress in Lebanon, and the second largest collection of Mamluk architectural heritage in the world. In addition to these relics, Tripoli boasts one of the most important legacies of modernist architecture in the Middle East, the never-completed, deserted and beautifully haunting International Fair of Tripoli, designed by world-renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer.
